Things to Do This 4th of July!
The City of Destin will be hosting a Family Independence Day Celebration & Bike parade for children 14 & under. The event will take place at the Destin Elementary School Track On Monday July 1st at 5:30pm, with registration beginning at 4:45pm. The event is free to the public. Come show off your decorated bike, scooter, or wagon. Awards will be given for different categories in each age division. Spectators are welcome and Refreshments will be available to all participants. For more information, please call 850-654-5184.
You can also head out to the Village of Baytowne Wharf for some family fun for Hydroflight Mondays! Enjoy shows at 6:30 & 8:30PM from fly-board extraordinaire Ben Merrell over the lagoon! Watch as he soars to the sky and makes waves at Baytowne Wharf.
The fun doesn’t end their folks! On July 3rd come out with the locals and participate in the Sandestin Family Fishing Tournament!
Events for 4th of July Week
Every Wednesday this Spring & Summer stop by the Baytowne Marina Bait Shop to receive your fishing rod. The family to catch the biggest fish, and provide a picture to the bait shop with they are done, will receive a prize!
Only 1 rod per family. Additional bait can be purchased at the bait shop. All fish are catch and release. Participants must bring your photo back by 1:30pm. Maps will be provided for available fishing rods.
Later on in the evening, come on out to the notorious Smoke on the Coast BBQ & Fireworks Festival. This July 3rd brings the 9th Annual Smoke on the Coast BBQ & Fireworks event and Destin Commons recently announced the 18 area charities chosen to benefit from Coins for a Cause and event proceeds. Participating charities team up with various restaurants and BBQ aficionados to fire up their grills and cook for over $85,000 in donations. Join Destin Commons in supporting the local area by plugging the meters at Destin Commons and attend SOTC, buy tickets and vote for your favorite nonprofit to support their mission.

AJ’s on the Bayou will also be joining in on the fun this week! Aj’s on the Bayou will have something for the whole family! The kids will have a blast enjoying the bounce houses, stilt walkers and face painting! Black Eyed Blonde will have everyone dancing from 6pm until 10pm. Enjoy ice cold beer and tasty BBQ all evening! Families can then enjoy the fantastic fireworks show at 9pm! It will be a great time that YOU don’t want to miss!

July 4th Events 2019
And now, for the main course. Red White and Baytowne will be hosting their own fireworks display in the Village of Baytowne Wharf to celebrate Independence Day. Join us this 4th of July for our Red, White, and Baytowne celebration! Beginning at 6pm enjoy lawn games, inflatables, kids crafts, and face painting. Then enjoy LIVE music on the Events Plaza Stage at 7pm, followed by a fireworks display that will light up the night sky at 9:15pm.
Harborwalk Village will also be ringing in the holiday with a great fireworks display that you and the family will not want to miss!!
Celebrate Americana and the heritage of the Destin Harbor all summer long every Thursday night until August 16th. The all-American celebration includes a one-of-a-kind WWII Vintage Airshow, Live On-stage Entertainment, and FIREWORKS over the Destin Harbor, followed by ‘Just Add Fire’, a unique fire spinning performance.
