Get your broom and fly on over to the Destin Commons on Friday, October 26th, for their Halloween Haunt that starts at 6 pm. This eerie event will be full of kid’s creepy crafts, fantasy face painting, trick-or-treating, and a costume contest. Get creative and bring the kids and dogs, dressed in their bewitching best for the costume contest. Come dressed to impress and you might win a hauntingly awesome assortment of prizes. After the contest, kids can go trick-or-treating in a safe and friendly environment at participating stores throughout Destin Commons.
Afterwards, head on over to AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar on the harbor to attend the Rocky Horror Picture Show viewing party and shadow-cast on AJ’s jumbo-tron at 10 pm on Friday, October 26th. Dress up like your favorite character and get in on the action! Prop “survival” kit awarded to the first 50 guests in costume. Aj’s will also have a late night costume contest with a $500 cash prize on Saturday, October 27th, along with other drink specials and live music with Black Eyed Blonde. While Halloween falls on Wednesday this year, October 31st, the kids in costume eat free at AJ’s from 4 pm – 6 pm. The spooktacular week has just begun folks. Enjoy a day full of Halloween festivities and kid’s costume contest at LuLu’s 4th Annual BooLu’s. From 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday, October 27th, the spooky fun will have pumpkin decorating, face painting, kid’s crafts, and inflatable play area. Trunk or Treat will feature trick-or-treating on the LuLu’s grounds during BooLu’s with various businesses and non-profits handing out candy treats to the little goblins. Register by 3:30 pm for the 4 pm costume contest, age categories 0 – 3, 4 – 6 and 7+. Kids can partake in a faboolous costume contest in age categories for boys and ghouls with prizes for the winners. Best of all, this day of fun events is all free. You can also celebrate at another popular waterfront venue in the area, the Gulf on Okaloosa Island! They will be hosting Halloween festivities on Saturday, October 27th, for little ones and adults with Kids events starting with a candy hunt at 2 pm, where little ghouls and goblins can wander around the large lawn at The Gulf to find treats of all kinds to fill their Halloween buckets. At 4 pm, a costume contest will take place with fun categories including cutest kid/pet duo, funniest, scariest and more! Winners will receive a fun prize from the gift shop. A photo station will be set up for pictures with the whole family! Guests are encouraged to share their photo on social media and use #TheGulfOI for a chance to win a $50 gift card. Parents can enjoy a scary good happy hour during the entire kid’s event. As the sun goes down and the Full Moon rises up, adults can come out for the Full Moon Halloween Party featuring DJ Doc Roc and some deliciously dark drink specials. Attendees will be greeted with complimentary champagne upon arrival before hitting the waterfront dance floor with music by DJ Doc Roc. The night of fright begins Saturday, October 27th, at 6 pm with the Monster Mash Pub Crawl, then live music on HarborWalk Village’s main stage at 7 pm, followed by fireworks over the Harbor at 9 pm and the adult costume contest on the main stage.
