October 31, 2023Idyll Hounds Most Popular Brews
By Nicole Upchurch
While staying with us at Glass Casa and visiting 30 Avenue, you will have the opportunity to visit Idyll Hounds, a local brewery known for its attention to detail and complex flavors. Idyll Hounds opened in 2013 after owner Frasier Hansen pursued his dream of being a master brewer for his own company. His journey began while working for a local cafe, Summers Kitchen, alongside Shawn Sherman, who admired his passion and drove him to pursue his dream. Shawn partnered with Frasier and opened what we know today as Idyll Hounds. Ever since, Frasier has produced outstanding products that you can find on the shelves and behind the bars of 30 Avenue, where you will come across three of the most common brews: the Ghost Crab Pilsna, Divide N Conch'r, and Palapa Pale Ale.

Ghost Crab Pilsna
While vacationing on 30A, you will likely find a local bar or store with Idyll Hounds Ghost Crab Pilsna on the shelves. The Ghost Crab Pilsna is a bohemian-style pilsner with Saaz hops—a very aromatic and balanced brew delivering fresh malty notes. You will get the most out of this 4.5% ABV with no lack of flavor. This light and crisp beer are perfect for enjoying while spending time with others, providing a taste everyone can enjoy. A wrestling crab on the label represents this pilsner's bold nature and daring palate.

Divide N Conch'r
Another fan favorite you will find on the shelves in 30 Avenue is the Divide N Conch'r. A double IPA hopped with Chinook, Simcoe, Amarillo, and Centennial. The Divide N Conch'r is the most renowned of the Idyll Hound brews full of citrus and hops. With an ABV of 8%, this Indian pale ale is robust but goes down easy. With tropical flavors and notes of grapefruit, this is a beer for everyone to enjoy. On the label, you will see a conch shell and hop plants representing the division between the subtle sea and the true complexity of the hops plant's nature.

Palapa Pale Ale
Next to the Divide N Conch’r, you may find the Palapa Pale Ale. An American pale ale at 5.5% with Citra, Mosaic, and Centennial hops. This easy-drinking ale starts with citrus and tropical fruit notes and finishes with hints of mango and grapefruit on the palate. The Palapa Pale Ale is the perfect beer to enjoy under the hot Florida sun. The label presents a Palapa shading two beach chairs representing its refreshing taste and quenching nature.
