During each nesting season, a female turtle will create four to seven nests in the sand and lay more than 100 eggs in each nest. They usually do this at night. After 60 days, the eggs will hatch and the baby turtles will make their way to the water. These turtles are precious and everyone wants to see this miracle of nature, but you have to be careful or you could interfere. Here are some tips to help keep these turtles safe.Do not leave anything on the beach and fill in any holes. This is super important! If anything gets in the way of these turtles it could be a matter of life and death.Don't shine lights on the beach at night and/or use a red filtered flashlight. The artificial light confuses the turtles. Keep the beaches dark and clear.Do not try to help.
